Something Inside Me

17 x 25 cm
paper, thread
embroidering, dyeing

This installation consists of several pages hanging either on the walls, or floating freely around the room. Figurative images of plants are embroidered with silk thread into very thin pages, symbolizing the fragile human life-cycle, its beauty, its limitations, and its transience. The hand-embroidered plants, letters and human figures could also be seen as entries in a diary, or drawings in a letter. This work is not available for purchase at the moment, as eighteen pieces are on display in the Register Office in Espoo, Finland.
