Teabag Works

The following works are made of teabags sewn together manually, piece by piece, over a length of time. The fragility of the material and the painstakingly slow pace of the process give the work its character, also articulated by the subtle irregularities in each bag, and the traces of the sewing. A teabag to me symbolizes fleeting everyday moments and events; when joined together by hand, one by one, they become part of a larger context, coming to stand for the passage of time and a life molded by individual choices.
